| Das relativ neue Hotel "Le Meridien"
ist mit seiner großen Poolanlage sehr schön angelegt. Die "Makadi
Bay" ist auch für Schnochler sehr zu empfehlen. Die hoteleigene italienische Tauchschule "The Crab" ist allerdings sehr unfreundlich und auf jeden Fall zu meiden. Die englische Verständigung ist sehr schwierig und die Regeln sind sehr strikt: "Jeder muß mit einem Tauchlehrer tauchen (Aufpreis), die Tauchzeit darf 40 Minuten nicht überschreiten, maximale Tauchtiefe ist 25 Meter, es darf kein Messer mit auf das Boot genommen werden, die Tauchfahrten müssen 1 Woche im voraus gebucht werden und "The Crab" ist sehr sehr teuer ..." |

| The hotel "Le Meridien"
is quite new and very nice with the big pool. The "Makadi Bay"
is also highly recommended for snorkelers. The italien diving center "The Crab" is very unfriendly and you have to avoid it. They are not able to speak english and they have strictly rules: "Everybody has to dive with a dive master (surcharge), no dive longer than 40 minutes and not deeper than 25 meters, you are not allowed to take a knife and you have to book your dives 1 week in advance and "The Crab" is very very expensive ..." |

| Im benachbarten Hotel gibt es zum Glück
die Tauchschule "Extra Divers". Es ist eine sehr freundliche,
gut organisierte Tauchschule, die auch weite Boots-Fahrten nicht scheut
und die maximale Tauchzeit gerne mal auf über 60 Minuten verlängert,
was bei den vorhanden 15 Liter Flaschen nicht schwierig ist. Es ist eine sehr gemütliche Tauchschule. |

| I found the diving center "Extra
Divers" in the next hotel. It is a very friendly, very good organized
diving center, they don't eschew long boat-trips and it is allowed and easy
to dive longer than 60 minutes with the 15 litre tanks. It is a very cozy diving center. |

unglaubliche Atmosphäre geboten. Leider hatte ich meine Unterwasser-Kamera nicht dabei. |

great. You will never forget it. The water is totally clear and you get

| Das "Giftun" war eines der
ersten Hotels in Hurghada und liegt an einem der zwei natürlichen Sandstrände.
Durch die Nähe zur Stadt (ca. 9 km) kommt man von hier mit den Pendeltaxis schnell und preisgünstig (ca. 60 Pfennig / Fahrt) in das Zentrum; auch wenn die Fahrten manchmal ein Abenteuer sind. Für Schnochler ist das Hotel nicht zu empfehlen. |

| The "Giftun"
was one of the first hotels in Hurghada and is located next to one of the
both natural beaches. Because of the nearness to the town (9 km) it is possible to drive very cheap (0,30 US$) with a taxi to the city; even if the trip is sometimes an adventure. The hotel can not be advised for snorkeling. |

gefahren und dort ein Wochenende gezeltet und getaucht. Es sollte eigentlich ein Gebiet mit vielen Haien sein, haben aber keinen einzigen finden können. |

the "Nautic Team" to the baltic sea to get my dry-suit
license. To make this license, the baltic sea was suitable with it's few
degrees. The highlights were the night dive and to have a champagne-drink under the water because of a birthday. |

| Nur durch Zufall auf dieser Insel gelandet,
da meine gebuchte Insel "Kandooma" im "Male-Atoll"
überbucht war. Aber es war ein überaus genialer Tausch. Die Insel ist 650 x 300 Meter groß und sehr schön bewachsen. Leider hat das Hotel den Besitzer gewechselt und ist nun das "Hilton Rangali", das für Normalverdiener fast nicht mehr erschwinglich ist. |

| It was good luck to come to
this island, because my booked island "Kandooma" in the
"Male-Atoll" was fully booked. But it was a very good deal.
The island is only 650 x 300 meters with nice vegetation. It is a great pity, that the hotel changed to the "Hilton Rangali" and is now very expensive. |
